Benny Forer is a Deputy District Attorney for Los Angeles County and a nationally recognized expert in cybercrime, digital evidence, and privacy law. Since 2006, he has prosecuted complex technology-driven cases, including large-scale fraud, identity theft, computer intrusions, and online crimes against children, with a focus on how rapidly evolving tools intersect with constitutional protections.
In addition to his work in the courtroom, Forer serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern California, where he teaches courses on cyber law, privacy, technology, and ethics, helping engineers and future lawyers understand the legal and ethical implications of their work. He is the author of multiple works on privacy and cyber law and a frequent lecturer for law enforcement, legal professionals, and industry groups on topics such as digital search and seizure, geofence and reverse-location warrants, and the future of the Fourth Amendment in the digital age.
